The 'boutique hotel' where stands Al Mamlouka used to be a family owned house similar to the other Damascene houses in the Old City it is located in the Christian quarter, Quemarieh street. The hotel built around a central courtyard with an original fountain in the middle and a citrus/ bitter orange (Naranj) trees and an Iwan or Liwan. The hotel has 8 bedrooms five of them surrounded the courtyard and three one situated on the first floor, it has a terraces and private patios. It also it has an Old Bayke (stable), converted into a bar, breakfast room and a gallery.The hotel belongs to the 17th century and boasts original features from the 18th century. One of the suites, Suleiman the Magnificent, contains its own fountain in the shape of a rose and an original 230 year old Christian fresco on the ceiling.

his is a truly beautiful hotel that has been wonderfully restored. It lies in one of the bustling main streets of old Damascus. It is close to many of the city's historical attractions as well as to the bars, nightclubs and cafes. The staff are really helpful, although their lack of English and my lack of Arabic meant most conversations were conducted via Google Translate. Breakfast at present isn't available. The price of a room is negotiable and proved more than reasonable. We moved to this hotel from one further down the street, which was unbearably noisy due to its proximity to a number of clubs and pubs.

an amazing hotel… Located at the heart of old Damascus, very close to best restaurants and walking distance to many great cafes and bars. Super impressed with the customer service, friendly staff and management and most importantly how clean the place is. Very affordable and you get a delicious complimentary breakfast. great for families. I highly recommend this place.

This was only my fourth stay at the Al Wadi as with the COVID-19 Pandemic and the hostilities we have not had the chance to stay in the Al Wadi over the past few years.
The hotel has probably one of the world’s most stunning views from its valley room and suites. These rooms look directly up to the most famous Crusader Castle in the world called Crak de Chevaliers. The views of the Crak keep changing throughout the day as in the morning it has a certain hue and as you get close to sunset it changes completely to a darker color.

Good place to stay for a business man or a family. Staff are friendly and courteous. Accommodations comes with a full breakfast buffet. Roof top lounge is nice and breezy even during a hot summer night. I was there with a wedding party and the staff were able to accommodate all 12 families in all 14 rooms. All in command managers are ladies.and they do run a tight ship
