A rare Roman mosaic was discovered in Rastan, Homs. It dates back to the Roman era and includes depictions of the Trojan War, the Roman god of the sea Neptune and 40 mistresses, and the demigod Hercules slaying Hippolyta, the queen of the Amazons. The mosaic is 20 meters long and 6 meters wide. It was found in an old building that Syria’s General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums had been excavating.
